Arrests

4/1/23 Debbie Horn, 54, of Taylorville was arrested by CCSO on a FTA Warrant.

4/2/23 Matthew Yattoni, 41, of Morrisonville was arrested by CCSO on FTA Warrant.

Accident

3/30/23 -   On 3/30/23 Rachel Beck, 41, was travelling south on IL Route 51.  Driver stated that she was ran off the roadway by an unknown motorist.  Beck stated could not give any detail to the County Deputy Goebel of the vehicle that was said to have ran her off the road.  Driver failed to negotiate the curve. Driver struck an arrow sign and then a road closed sign/barrier.  Beck came to a stop after striking both objects.  Vehicle had front end damage.  Beck was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

John W. Daykin, age 64, of Taylorville was arrested for DUI.

Angela L. Simmons, age 58, of Taylorville was arrested for Driving With No Valid Drivers License.

There was a motor vehicle accident on March 22nd, 2023 at the intersection of Park Street and Webster Street around 9 PM. When police arrived on the scene, officers observed severe damage on two vehicles.  After talking to witnesses it was determined that a minor from Taylorville had the right of way and Casey Moma of Taylorville failed to yield the right of way and both vehicles hit. No injuries were reported and Moma received two citations for improper turn as well as failure to produce valid insurance. 

Taylorville Police responded to a vehicle accident on March 29th at 8:04 AM. April Murrey of Taylorville was heading south on Cottage approaching Elm.  Breanne L. True of Taylorville was heading west on Elm approaching Cottage.  Murrey disobeyed a yield sign and entered the intersection in front of True.  True struck Murrey's vehicle. No reports of injuries and Murrey received a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. 

On March 29th, at 12:38 PM Macey Smith of Taylorville, Clara Glover of Taylorville, and Ronald Warren of Taylorville were all eastbound on Park Street towards Cherokee Street. Glover and Warren were slowed/stopped in traffic as they approached the Cherokee Street stop light.  Smith failed to reduce speed and collided their front end with the rear end of Glover who hit Warren. No injuries were reported and Unit 1 received a citation.
