Area Arrests And Accidents 1/27/23

The Christian County Sheriff's Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

Arrests

 

1-25-23 Layla Schuyler was arrested BY Sangamon County on a pretrial violation warrant for meth.

 

Crashes

 

 1-25-23 Mark Brown, age 58, of Moweaqua was traveling northbound on US Route 51 approaching 900 North Road. Brown lost control of his vehicle and spun in the heavy snow and black ice and came to rest in the ditch. The vehicle was able to be towed and driven from the scene. No injuries.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

72 year old Nancy J. Oller of Taylorville was arrested for theft. 

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to the following vehicle accidents:

 

On January 18th around 5:38 PM, a minor from Stonington was backing up and struck a vehicle driven by Katherine Truesdell of Plainview near 100 S. Washington Street. No injuries were reported.

 

On January 19th around 4:17 PM, Lauel M. Jacobs of Pana was slowed in traffic while traveling westbound on Park Street near the Walnut Street intersection. Lexi N. Shull of Taylorville was also westbound on Park Street and was behind Jacobs.  Shull failed to reduce speed striking the rear of Jacobs. After striking the rear of Jacobs, Shull left the roadway to the north striking a tree.  No injuries were reported.  Shull received a citation for failure to reduce speed.

 

On January 22nd, around 1:25 PM, Cameren Cook of Oconee was traveling east on Springfield Road with Troy Smith of Taylorville following.  Cook slowed to let Smith pass.  Smith passed on Springfield Road.  Smith then slowed in the roadway and Cook rear ended Smith.  The police claim this was an incident of road rage as Cook exited the vehicle and punched the drivers side door window.  No damage was caused and Cook was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an incident.  Smith was also issued a citation for driving suspended.
