The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

57 year old Joseph Tarrant of Morrisonville was arrested on Thursday for aggravated assault

CRASHES

On 09-03-21 Zachary Simmons of Decatur was southbound on IL Route 48 in Johnson Township. Simmons was approaching 965 East Road in his 2013 Ford and thought a vehicle on 965 East was going to pull onto 48 in front of him. Simmons applied his brakes, causing him to skid into the ditch and then into the field. The vehicle received damage but was driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

TPD responded to a vehicle crash on September 6th at 6:27 PM at the 500 Block of North Webster Street. Bernard Curvey of Taylorville was entered the 500 block of North Webster from the 510 N. Webster intersection while turning southbound onto North Webster Street.  At this time a motorcycle driven by Jeremy W. Hamm of Springfield was traveling northbound at an accelerated rate of speed towards the 510 N. Webster intersection striking the driver’s side rear end of Curvey’s vehicle.

The impact of the vehicles caused Hamm to be ejected multiple feet. Both vehicles were significantly damaged.  Curvey sustained minor injuries. Curvey’s passenger reported no injuries.  Hamm sustained significant injuries and was transported from scene by EMS. ISP was notified and the Crash Reconstruction Units worked the scene.
