Area Arrests And Accidents 06/08/21

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

22 year old Nathanael C. Hamende of Springfield was arrested on Monday on a FTA warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle.

 

27 year old Michelle S. Dixon of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a FTA warrant for possession of meth.

 

21 year old Jaycie J. Rogers of Pana was arrested on Monday on a FTA warrant for aggravated battery to a peace officer.
 
22 year old Sadie L. Jacobs of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a FTA warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked drivers license. 

 

37 year old Brandon P. Cash of Florida was arrested on a FTA warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license.
 
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident on June 5th. John Tate was southbound on County Highway 22 in Buckhart Township and failed to negotiate a turn at 1800 North. The vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned resulting in minor injuries.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident on Monday on North Street in Stonington. Derek Dye was westbound and approaching Illinois Route 48. Eugene Mura was southbound on IL Route 48. Dye failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and struck Mura’s vehicle on the driver’s side. No injuries were reported. Dye was issued a citation for failure to yield at an intersection.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

A juvenile was arrested on Tuesday for burglary from a motor vehicle.

 

20 year old Abigail H. Copley of Taylorville was issued a city ordinance violation on Monday for possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor and arrested for resisting/obstructing a peace officer. 

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident at West Spresser and Cheney Street at 4:47 PM on May 27th.  Jerri L. Mazzotti of Taylorville was stopped at the intersection of West Spresser and South Cheney Street at the Stop Light. Trevor J. Crews of Taylorville failed to reduce speed to avoid an accident due to brakes failing. No injuries were reported. 

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Spresser and Cheney on June 4th. Christian M. Barrows of Taylorville was heading east on Spresser Street turning left on Cheney Street. Patrick S. Gagne of Taylorville was headed west on Spresser Street. Barrows turned into the driver’s side of Gagne while turning. Both drivers stated they had the green light. No reports of injuries. Barrows was issued a citation for failure to yield turning left. Video footage showed that Barrows had a green light not a green arrow. 

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Springfield Road and Northern Avenue. On June 4th, Christopher W. Mohn of Taylorville was traveling westbound on Northern Avenue. A minor from Taylorville was exiting private property at Steak N Shake turning eastbound onto Northern Avenue. The minor failed to yield the right of way turning left and colliding with Mohn. The minor was issued a citation.
