The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;
21 year old Michaela L. Herpstreith of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for murder. When she was arrested she was found with a knife.
31 year old Erica L. Wessling of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday on an original arrest warrant for 2019 charge of retail theft. Bond was set at $7,500.
19 year old Trevor A. Scott of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for domestic battery and theft.
33 year old William D. Thomas of Pana was arrested on Wednesday on an original arrest warrant for 2 2019 charges of possession of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $25,000.
23 year old Matthew W. Hoover of Pana was arrested on Wednesday on an originaal arrest warrant for a 2019 charge of criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $7,500.
19 year old Kane M. Johnson of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for a violation of an order of protection.
30 year old Thomas Tootlate of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for domestic battery.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident on Monday morning. 28 year old Jessica M. Clements of Stonington was traveling west on County Highway 4. Near 1750 East, the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck the ditch on the north side of the roadway. Clements explained that an eastbound vehicle had begun to enter her lane which caused her to oversteer and go into the ditch.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon. A vehicle driven by 75 year old Nelson J. Lock of Decatur struck a deer at 1068 Illinois Route 48. No injuries were reported.
The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;
30 year old Thomas Tootlate was arrested on Tuesday for domestic battery and interfering with reporting of domestic violence.
29 year old Taylor J. Christian of Springfield was arrested on Monday for driving while license suspended.
44 year old James M. Thompson Jr. of Taylorville was arrested for driving on a suspended license.
19 year old Tatiana D.M. Fisher of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for criminal damage.
A 15 year old Male of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for criminal damage.
The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle crash on the evening of Christmas Eve. A witness observed 21 year old Barbara L. Sexton of Taylorville stopped at the intersection of Adams Street and Main Street. The witness observed Sexton proceed through the intersection and get struck by 80 year old Norma J. Cearlock of Taylorville. The witness stated that Cearlock attempted to get her to change her story. Sexton stated she was at the intersection first and stated that they began to drive north when Cearlock struck the vehicle. Cearlock received a citation. No injuries were reported.
On December 23rd, TPD was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of West Elm and Lawn Avenue. 61 year old Charles E. Stubbs of Taylorville was raveling eastbound on Elm Street when 21 year old Payton J. Droke of Taylorville was traveling southbound and failed to stop at the stop sign striking Stubbs on the passenger side. EMS was called to the scene and signed refusals. Droke received a citation.
