ACCIDENTS:

The Christian County Sheriff's Office responded to a one-vehicle accident on Sunday morning at 6:19 on Illinois Route 48 near Palmer.  Deputies say a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Kayla M. Schneider of Morrisonville, was southbound on Illinois Route 48 when a deer ran into the roadway.  Scheider was unable to avoid hitting the deer.  No injuries were reported.

Christian County Deputies were called to a 2-vehicle accident on Monday morning at 9:29, at the intersection of E. 1100 North Road and Illinois Route 29 in Locust Township.  A semi tractor driven by 36-year-old Brian L. Jennings of Charleston, was southbound on Illinois Route 29, stopped for a vehicle truning into 1100 North Road.  Deputies say a Ford F-150 driven by Stiles A. Crowe of Effingham was unable to avoid striking the rear of the Jennings vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office investigated an accident on Monday afternoon at 5:20 on 1250 East Road near 700 North Road in Johnson Township.  Deputies report that a 2013 GMC pickup driven by 55-year-old Gregory Presnell of Nokomis, was northbound on 1250 East Road about half a mile north of 700 North Road, when a deer ran into the front bumper of the pickup, causing damage.  No injuries were reported.

Christian County Deputies responded to an accident on Monday afternoon at 5:10 at 1250 East Road near 700 North Road in Johnson Township.  A 2015 Chevrolet driven by 55-year-old Carol A. Scheider of Morrisonville, was southbound on 1250 East about half a mile north of 700 North Road, when a deer ran into the driver's side door, causing significant damage.  No injuries were reported.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office was called to an accident on Tuesday morning at 10:25 on Illinois Route 48 near the South Fork Bridge in Johnson Township.  A semi tractor was driven by 51-year-old Derrrick C. Witzel of Centralia, while a 2005 Chevy truck was driven by 33-year-old Dustin N. Damm of Palmyra, pulling a piece of farm machinery.  Deputies say the Witzel vehicle was northbound on Illinois Route 48, while the Damm vehicle was southbound.  The Witzel vehicle was heading onto the bridge as the vehicle came to a stop prior to entering the bridge.  Reports indicate the vehicle that stopped could not fit in the bridge at the same time as the vehicle pulling the machinery, with the Witzel vehicle going too fast to stop for the machinery crossing the bridge.  It went around the stopped vehicle, entered the bridge, and struck the machinery with the whole side of the Damm vehicle, according to deputies.  No injuries were reported.

Deputies responded to an accident on Tuesday night at 9:20pm at 688 East 500 North Road in Ricks Township.  A 2007 Toyota Camry driven by 20-year-old Karter D. Bracher of Taylorville, was eastbound on 500 North Road, when he approached deer in the roadway.  Bracher swerved to avoid hitting the deer, overcorrected, lost control, hit a ditch embankment, and overturned.  A witness stated there were deer in the roadway.  No injuries were reported.
