Area Arrests, Accidents, And Fire Calls 11/7/19

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

35-year old Brian M. Hays of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine.

 

41-year old Robert G. Wangen of Taylorville was driving westbound on Illinois Route 104 on Wednesday morning. A deer was standing in the middle of the road, and the driver reduced speed to avoid the deer veering off of the right side shoulder. The deer ran into the side of Wangen’s vehicle causing damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver notified the Christian County Sheriff’s Office of the accident. No injuries were reported.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

On October 27th a vehicle was parked and unoccupied, facing northbound, just southeast of the Henrietta Avenue and West Adams Street intersection. An unknown vehicle struck the rear driver’s side bumper of the parked vehicle and left the scene of the accident. The vehicle that was hit belonged to an Amber M. Bone of Taylorville. Police are still investigating the accident.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Washington and Vine on October 24th. 34-year-old Crystal L. Johnson of Taylorville stated to Police she was being followed by 25-year-old Martina I. Lyles of Taylorville through town. She pulled over and Lyles drove up beside her striking the front driver corner. Lyles than drove away from the scene. No reports of injuries. Lyles was later found and given 3 citations, improper lane usage, leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless driving.

 

The Taylorville Police responded to a vehicle accident on the morning of October 29th.  23-year-old Jack A. Fulk of Stonington was traveling southbound on Webster Street. Fulk lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway and up onto the boulevard in front of Walgreens. Fulk struck a signpost and then flipped over on its top landing on the boulevard and roadway. The vehicle had to be towed.  Fulk was taken by Dunn’s Ambulance to St. John’s Hospital. Fulk received a citation.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Wednesday evening. 78-year-old Patsy L. Handy was westbound on Route 29 when a large buck jumped into the path of Handy. Handy was unable to avoid hitting the deer. No injuries were reported.

 

35-year-old Brian M. Hays of Taylorville was arrested for possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams.
