Area Arrests, Accidents, And Fire Calls 7/12/19

The Christian County Sheriff’s office reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

34-year-old Charles T. Durbin of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for violating a protection order.

 

47-year-old Shawna C. Matthews was arrested on Thursday for retail theft.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

41-year-old Clayton W. Sylvester of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license suspended.

 

The Taylorville police department responded to an accident on Tuesday evening at 9:42 at the intersection of Lincoln Trail and Leland Lane. 31-year-old Amber R. Scott of Taylorville was headed east on Lincoln Trail and stated that she was distracted by her phone and exited the roadway.  Scott’s vehicle collided with a guard rail before crashing into a tree. Scott said she had no injuries and had been traveling at a low rate of speed.  The vehicle’s airbags didn’t deploy and no signs of impairment were observed.  The vehicle was towed. Scott was given a citation for failure to provide proof of insurance.  

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Wednesday morning at 7:59. 69-year-old Karen S. Willar of Taylorville was waiting in traffic to turn left into the parking lot at 1220 Springfield Road. Willar stated she began her turn and there was enough time to make the turn before the next car approached.  Willar says that she saw a motorcycle after she was already turning.  Willar hit the motorcycle driven by 35-year-old MIchael A. Kratz of Kincaid. Kratz was ejected from the motorcycle and went over the hood of Willar’s vehicle.  Kratz was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by Dunn’s Ambulance.  Willar received a citation for failure to yield turning left.

There was one EMS call between 9:00 Thursday morning and 9:00 Friday morning

 

The Pana Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

The Pana Police announced July 7th an investigation into Shane A. Mosley.  Mosley is accused of taking cash from Georgia Ward in May.  The case is still under investigation.

 

The Pana Police investigated a civil dispute on June 22nd on the 1000 block of Birch Street.  A report was forwarded to the Christian County States Attorney’s Office for further review.

 

The Pana Police responded to a vehicle accident on June 28th at 650E 1100 North near Pana Lake. A vehicle was traveling south on 650E when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.  No injuries were reported and the driver of the vehicle is unknown.  The case is under investigation.

 

The Pana Police Department was dispatched to a possible domestic battery on the morning of June 29th.  A suspect was taken into custody.    29-year-old Tyler W. Miller was arrested for domestic battery after the investigation.  He was processed and transported to CCCC in lieu of bond.

 

36-year-old Julie E. Woods of Pana was arrested on July 4th after she turned herself in on a active Christian County Arrest Warrant.  Woods was taken into custody without incident and transported to Christian County Jail.

 

The Pana Police Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of Birch Street on July 5th  due to a male subject acting suspicious and running around in public with no clothes on.  Pana Officers located the subject inside the home of 1005 Birch continuing to act in an erratic way. Pana Officers requested Ambulance and EMS to assist.  The subject was transported to Pana Hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.  No criminal charges were made.

 

The Pana Police Department stopped a vehicle on July 5th at 11:15 PM near North State Street and West Washington Street. The driver 40-year-old Jennifer L. Jones license was suspended and she was issued a citation. The passenger, 36-year-old Sarah R. Alan was issued a citation for illegally transporting alcohol.  Jones was released with a notice to appear.

 

The Pana Police Department responded to a call on the evening of July 4th.  A woman was banging on a vehicle window yelling obscenities at the residence of 400 N. Elm Street.  A investigation is ongoing.

 

The Pana Police Department responded to a call for theft on June 27th.  Glenda S. Garrett reported that her 9-Shot .22 Calibur pistol with black gun case was stolen from her residence at some point between June 19 and June 23rd.  The case is under investigation.

 

The Pana Police Department conducted a traffic stop on July 10th at Jackson and Fairgrounds Road.  William E. Lawrence was arrested for driving while license suspended.  The vehicle was searched after a smell of narcotics from the K-9.  Additional charges of possession of methamphetamine may be filed.  The case is still under investigation.

 

The Pana Police Department responded to a traffic stop on two bicycles on the early morning of July 7th at South Walnut Street and West 3rd Street.  The stop was conducted for operating a bike with no front headlamps.  During the investigation, it was revealed that 24-year-old Cody L. Smith was wanted on an Effingham County warrant.  He was taken into custody and later transported to Christian County Jail.
