Area Arrests and Accidents 10/09/18

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News on Monday:

 

33 year old Michael Bowman of Springfield was in an accident on October 7th at 5:30 in the morning. Bowman was eastbound on county highway 6. Just west of Township Road 2500 East Bowman drove off the road and onto the shoulder. According to the accident report, Bowman traveled 200 feet before coming back onto the roadway, but overcorrected to the right and began to spin. Bowman traveled off the road and through a ditch into a private yard before striking two trees and coming to a rest. Bowman left the scene and walked to his house, Morrell Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

 

26 year old Kourtney Fickas of Springfield and 46 year old Kandi Black of Stonington were in an accident October 6th at 12:19 in the afternoon. Fickas backed out from the private drive at West Wabash street in Stonington to proceed westbound. Fickas backed into the southbound lane of West Wabash Street and stopped in front of the driveway at 306 West Wabash Street. According to the accident report Fickas said that she was ready to pull away when she was struck by Black. The two vehicles had backed into each other from across the street. Fickas received damage on the driver’s side door, and Black received damage to the rear driver’s side.

 

23 year old Kaetlyn Durbin of Shelbyville was in an accident on October 5th at 6:17 in the afternoon. Durbin was traveling North on County 7. According to the accident report, Durbin lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway. Durbin hit the ditch and tolled one time coming to rest on the vehicle’s side.

 

50 year old Christine Marron of Stonington and 25 year old Blake Clinard of Taylorville was in an accident on October 5th at 7:12 in the morning. Marron was traveling westbound on East North Street and was slowing to stop at the stop sign with intersection road Illinois Route 48 in Stonington. Marron stated that she slowly proceeded towards Illinois Route 48 because her vision was partially obstructed to the north by a garage and trees. According to the accident report, Clinard was turning eastbound on East North Street when the two vehicles made impact. Marron received front, driver’s side damage and there was no damage to Clinard. No injuries were reported.

 

30 year old Matthew Lee of Nokomis was in an accident on October 3rd at 6:30 in the afternoon. According to the accident report, Lee was traveling west bound on county road 600 North. Lee failed to reduce speed at the intersection. Lee skidded off the roadway and struck the ditch embankment. Lee fled the scene of the crash, and open containers were found in his vehicle. Lee was issued 3 citations for failure to reduce speed, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to report an accident to the police.

 

39 year old Jeffery Shanks of Kincaid was arrested on Friday on a charge of theft, and failure to appear or answer question.

 

29 year old Nathanial Brandt of Taylorville was arrested on Saturday on a charge of Driving under the influence.

 

18 year old Emma Hughes-Prehn of Morrisonville was arrested on Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

 

37 year old Jacob Johnson of Taylorville was arrested on Friday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of cannabis.

 

50 year old Lisa Cantrell of Pana was arrested on Saturday on a charge of criminal trespass to land.

 

25 year old Jamz Warner of Springfield was arrested on Monday on a charge of purchasing liquor for a minor.

 

23 year old Deon McDonald of Decatur was arrested on Monday on a charge of Burglary.

 

37 year old Melissa Beaston of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

 

22 year old Patrick Emmerling of Bulpitt was arrested on Monday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

 

22 year old Hardy McQuade of Pana was arrested on Sunday on a charge of domestic battery.

 

35 year old Vance Gibson of Pana was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of violating an order of protection.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News on Tuesday:

 

37 year old Melissa Beaston of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a warrant.

 

36 year old Holly Sloan of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a charge of retail theft.
