Area Arrests and Accidents 10/02/18

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following accidents and arrests to Regional Radio News on Tuesday:

 

71 year old Richard Talbott of Casey was in an accident on September 24th. According to the accident report Talbott was traveling west on County Highway 6. Talbot turned to the north on 2000 east road. When turning, the trailer on the back of Talbott’s vehicle struck a power pole on the northeast corner of the intersection causing damage to the pole. The trailer sustained damage on the passenger side.

 

57 year old Dennis Slater of Vandalia and 34 year old Stephen Horath of Morrisonville were in an accident on September 27th. According to the accident report, Slater was traveling southbound on Township Road 200 E approaching the intersection with Township Road 900 N. Horath was traveling eastbound on Township Road 900 North approaching the intersection with Township Road 200 East. Slater stated that as he was approaching the intersection, he was traveling at approximately 40-45 miles per hour and have moved his vehicle to the east side of the roadway. Horath stated that he was traveling at roughly 45 miles per hour and was slowing down to proceed through the intersection. Both vehicles entered the intersection, and Slater struck the front end of Horath’s vehicle. The impact caused Slater to rotate counter clockwise sending the passenger side of his car to the drivers side of Horath’s tractor unit. Slater received total damage, the tractor of Horath received major damage to the front end on the drivers side. Horath was airlifted to St. Johns Hospital for treatment of injuries. 

 

18 year old Anna Lee of Mount Auburn was in an accident on September 28th. According to the accident report, Lee was traveling northbound on County Highway #22 ¼ of a mile south of township road 3130 north when a deer entered the roadway. Lee was unable to avoid striking the animal, and after hitting the deer, entered the west ditch and proceeded in a northerly direction until it came to a rest. Lee’s vehicle had front end damage. Lee was transported by Decatur Ambulance for treatment of injuries.

 

74 year old Charles Cochran of Nokomis was in an accident on September 28th. According to the accident report, Cochran was traveling southbound on County Highway #1 ½ mile south of Township Road 800 N, when a deer entered the roadway. Cochran was unable to avoid hitting the animal and Cochran’s vehicle received front end damage. 

 

27 year old David Droke of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license.

 

47 year old James Miller of Pana was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of fleeing, or attempting to elude.

 

25 year old Sarah Fleet of Pana was arrested on Monday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

 

31 year old Randy Bess of Morrisonville was arrested on Monday on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News on Tuesday:

 

38 year old Darcy Ream of Taylorville was arrested on Monday on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.
