Area Arrests/Accidents 5/30/2018

On Wednesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:

 

26-year-old Steven P. Kious of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage and failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle.

 

On Wednesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

34-year-old Andrew T. Carraher was turning from W. Spresser onto Houston St. when an unknown driver in a Red Dodge Interpid struck Carraher’s vehicle. The unknown driver then left the scene, leaving behind major damage to Carraher’s driver side door. No injuries or citations reported.

 

22-year-old Heather A. Watson was heading northbound on N. Cheney Street when 58-year old June A. Yates stopped for the flow of traffic. Watson failed to yield, rear ending Yates. Both cars received major damage. Yates was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for a neck injury, while Watson was given a citation for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

A 16-year-old minor was traveling on North Cheney Street when 66-year-old Larry L. Alaria stopped to let the car in front of him turn into Arby’s. The minor failed to stop, rear ending Alaria’s vehicle. The minor was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

An unknown driver struck 17-year-old Madyson H. Haller while changing lanes. The unknown driver then left the scene, driving north on Webster Avenue. Haller was able to drive away from the scene.

 

21-year-old Amanda N. Morgan was driving west on 104 when 36-year-old Kimberly J. England failed to yield. Morgan struck England’s vehicle. Both cars had to be towed from the scene, and England was issued a citation for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Both England and Morgan were transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

 

On Wednesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:

 

18-year-old Preston J. Newingham of Kincaid was arrested Tuesday for Possession of Methamphetamine.

 

42-year-old Jamie L. McDonald of Shelbyville was arrested Tuesday. Bond was set at 3,500 dollars.
