Area Arrests/Accidents 12/14/16

On Monday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

18 year old Abigail M. Cash of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer.

 
 
 

ACCIDENTS:

 

On December 12th 30 year old Sarah E. Jennings of Edinburg was traveling southbound on County Highway 20, and was about 1/10th of a mile north of Township Road 1900 North. Jennings stated a deer began to enter the roadway, so she swerved to the left, exiting the roadway. Jennings then overcorrected and re-entered the roadway, proceeding to rotate in a clockwise direction. Jenning’s vehicle skid across both traffic lanes and left the roadway into the west ditch. The vehicle then struck the ditch and overturned, coming to rest facing southeast. No injuries were reported.

 

On December 13th 30 year old Rachel A Dixon of Kincaid was traveling southbound on County Highway 1, about 1/10th of a mile south of County Highway 10. Dixon lost control on the snow covered roadway and exited the roadway to the right. Dixon entered the west ditch and the front end of Dixon’s vehicle struck the embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its wheels facing north. No injuries were reported.

 

32 year old Aaron A. Weber of Pana stated he was southbound on Route 48 coming to the intersection of Rt. 48 and Lincoln Trail. 63 year old Billy D. Brown Jr of Taylorville stated he was going through the intersection of Rt. 48 and Lincoln trail. Weber said he had a red light and attempted to stop but was not able to do so due to the slick roadway. Brown said he had a green light and was going through the intersection when Weber hit his vehicle in the passenger’s side causing him to turn sideways. Brown said when he turned sideways Weber’s vehicle hit his vehicle again causing damage to the rear passenger side bed of his truck. Weber’s vehicle received drivers side front bumper and rear drivers side bed damage. Weber was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

On December 13th 23 year old Courtney L. Rueff of Taylorville was northbound on Rt 29 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by Rueff’s vehicle, wich had front end damage and was driven from the scene.

 

34 year old Jennifer M. Mills of Bulpitt backed from a parking space in the Walmart parking lot and struck another vehicle in the passenger side causing damage. Mills left the scene and was located on December 12th. Damage to Mill’s vehicle consisted of a broken driver side tail light. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Mills was issued citations for the crash.
