Area Arrests/Accidents 5/27/16

On Friday the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

28 year old Christopher L. Dorsey of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for theft. Bond was set at $2500.

 

29 year old Justin G.E. Edwards of Edinburg was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving with a suspended licese. Bond was set at $5000.

 

25 year old Matthew C. Tucker of Taylorville was arrested on Wednesday for criminal damage to property, as well as disorderly conduct.



 

On Friday the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

27 year old Kristopher Swinburne of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for Disorderly Conduct.

 

29 year old Pamela Rozplochowski of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for Disorderly Conduct.



 

ACCIDENTS:

 

On 5/23/16 at 1:49 PM, officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Cheney and Prairie. 16 year old Carson R. Heberling of Taylorville stated she stopped at the stop sign in a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo, and saw 77 year old Ruth A. Canfield of Taylorville who was driving a 2014 Nissan Murano stop as well. Heberling stated she proceeded through the intersection and was struck by Canfield. Canfield stated she stopped and proceeded and was struck by Heberling. Heberling stated when she saw Canfield proceed she sped up to avoid getting struck but was struck anyway. Heberling was more than half way through the intersection when the accident occurred. Heberling spun around after getting struck by Canfield, and Heberling went over the curbing causing damage to the front driver side tire rim. Canfield's vehicle had front end damage and Heberling's vehicle had passenger rear door and quarter panel damage and damage to the driver front tire rim. Canfield driver was issued a citation for failed to yield/stop or yield intersection. No injuries were reported.

 

On 5/25/16, 58 year old Brenda F. Watkins of Harvel was traveling west on Spresser Street in a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country, and was approaching the intersection of Spresser and Shumway Streets. 39 year old Teresa M. McGuire of Palmer was northbound on Shumway Street and stopped at the same intersection in a 2011 Nissan Armada. Watkins advised that they went through the intersection, the light was yellow, and then red. McGurie was turning right onto Spresser Street, with a green light, and was struck by Watkins. Both vehicles were able to leave the secene.
