Area Arrests/Accidents 3-22-16

On Tuesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

25 year-old Zachary M. Morrissey of Blue Mound was arrested on Monday on a bond forfeiture warrant for contempt of court. Bond was set at $2,500.

 

21 year-old Kylie R. Best of Kincaid was arrested on Tuesday for possession of a controlled substance. She was also arrested on a bond forfeiture warrant for burglary, and an original arrest warrant for parole violation. Bond was set at $20,000.

 

32 year-old Brandt A. Ehrhardt of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for contraband in a penal institution and driving under the influence. Bond was set at $3,300.

 

34 year-old Robert D. Burke of Wood River, Illinois was arrested on Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant of two driving on a suspended/revoked licenses (two different cases: 2012 and 2015).

 

34 year-old Stephanie M. Holley of Stonington was arrested on Tuesday for domestic battery.

 

28 year-old James E. Gordon of Decatur was arrested on Monday for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

33 year-old Tawana R. Hall of Pana was arrested on Tuesday for obstructing identification. She was also arrested on a bond forfeiture warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence. She was also arrested on an original arrest warrant for aggravated fleeing.

 

31 year-old Ronee N. Foraker of Taylorville was arrested on Monday for burglary and theft. She was released on $5,000 recognizance bond.

 

26 year-old Tyler J. Dull of Pana was arrested on Monday for domestic battery.

 

47 year-old Frank E. Klekamp of Vandalia was arrested on Tuesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for reckless driving. Bond was set at $2,000.

 

Accident:

 

16 year-old Austin S. Lay of Assumption was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, heading westbound on 1300 North Road attempting to cross US Highway 51. He proceeded across the northbound lanes into the middle of the four lane. Lay stated that his foot slipped off the brake as he came to the yield sign, and his Impala proceeded out into the southbound lanes and tried to hurry across to avoid a 2004 Peterbilt 389 semi tractor-trailer being driven by 47 year-old Ronald S. Shofner of Maroa that was heading southbound.

 

Shofner stated he saw Lay come out to the middle between the four lanes and thought that he was going to stop. When Lay continued out into the roadway, Shofner attempted to stop. His vehicle left approximately 100 feet of skid marks before striking Lay’s Chevrolet Impala in the passenger side rear corner. Shofner’s brakes remained locked and left a total of approximately 363 feet of skid marks before coming to a stop on the west shoulder of the southbound lanes. Lay’s vehicle spun around and came to a stop facing east on 1300 North Road. No injuries were reported. The accident occurred on March 20 at 12:20 p.m.

 

On Tuesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio:


25 year-old Nicole L. Jenkins of Raymond was arrested on Monday on a Montgomery County warrant.
