Area Arrests/Accidents 3-16-16

On Wednesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

30 year-old Jessie C. Workman of Kincaid was arrested on Tuesday for domestic battery. Bond was set at $2,000.

 

30 year-old Jacob C. Krouse of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday for burglary and retail theft. Bond was set at $30,000.

 

24 year-old Jerrie D. Day of Pana was arrested on Wednesday on a bond forfeiture warrant for failure to appear for driving suspended.

 

Accidents:

 

22 year-old Austin C. Ashworth of Mattoon was driving a 2006 Ford F-350 pickup truck, was northbound on Township Road 2500 East, just south of Township Road 600 North. Ashworth drove off the roadway to the right and into the east ditch. His Ford traveled approximately 400 feet in the ditch before striking and damaging a Shelby Electric Utility Pole. His vehicle continued for approximately 30 feet before coming to rest in the east ditch. His Ford F-350 received major right side damage. Ashworth initially reported to the Mattoon Police Department that his vehicle had been stolen, however recanted that claim and stated he was the driver. No injuries were reported. The accident occurred on March 13 at 3:30 a.m.

 

18 year-old Kaylie N. Weideman of Pana was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger SXT, heading eastbound on Township Road 800 North, approximately 4/10 of a mile west of Township Road 2500 East. Weideman lost control on an area of gravel covering the roadway and began to rotate clockwise, proceeding towards the south ditch. Her Dodge traveled approximately 162 feet on the roadway, from the point it began to lose control to the point it exited the roadway. Her vehicle entered the south ditch, where the impact caused her Dodge to become airborne. Weideman’s vehicle proceeded into a field where it flipped over, finally coming to rest on its top, facing southwest. Her vehicle then traveled approximately 115 feet from the location it first entered the ditch until the final resting point in the field. Weideman’s Dodge received major front end and roof damage. Both Weideman and a passenger were taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. The accident occurred on March 12 at 2:04 p.m.

 

On Wednesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio:


A 14 year-old juvenile was arrested on Tuesday for retail theft. He was placed into custody and transported to the TPD.
