The Tornado girls basketball team suffered a 57-44 defeat away to Williamsville after a late surge from the Bullets.
Taylorville built comfortable leads in the second and third quarter, topping out at 11 points. That's when Williamsville's comeback began. They rattled off quick scores, mostly courtesy of Bailey Wherley, in the closing stages of the third quarter. Her side continued the momentum into the fourth with scores from Reese Larson and Cora Senalik.
Grace Rogers finished as Taylorville's top scorer with 19 points. Her performance, which included three three-point scores, earned her the title of Chill Nicole Patrick Country Financial Player of the Game. As for Williamsville, Wherley topped all players with 22 points, while Larson tallied 14.
Taylorville is now 3-3 and will look to rebound at home to Mahomet-Seymour on Saturday. The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on 96.5 The Chill.
Williamsville is now 3-2 and will host Sangamon Valley/Tri City next.
