Taylorville School District Eighth graders Sarah Wagner and Zac Wright each earned a place in the IESA State Cross Country Race.  The top 3 teams and the next 7 individual runners from each Sectional race advance to the State competition. Wagner placed 7th with a personal record of 12:42.4 in the women’s race. Wright placed 5th in the Men’s race with a time of 11:04.6.  Both athletes will be honored with a Walk of Champions on Friday, October 18th at the Taylorville Jr High.  The whole Cross Country team will run with a police escort from Jaynes Park to Angelo’s Friday evening to prepare for the State race on Saturday. The Taylorville team is Coached by Chad Sutton.
