The Monsters of the Midway gave the Bears a win as they scored 17 unanswered and the defense played spectacular to beat the Tennessee Titans 24-17 on Sunday afternoon. Caleb Williams didn't have the best game, but the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft went 14-29 for 93 yards. The defense was what won the game for the Bears, as Jonathan Owens returned a 21 yard blocked punt return and Tyrique Stevenson returned a 43 yard pick six. The last time the Bears had a blocked punt return for a touchdown and a pick six in the same game was ALSO against the Titans 12 years ago.
For the Titans, Will Levis went 19-32 for 127 yards, 1 touchdown, and two interceptions, Tony Pollard had 16 carries for 82 yards and 1 touchdown and Calvin Ridley had three receptions for 50 yards. Chicago Bears Wide Receiver DJ Moore had 5 receptions for 36 yards and D'Andre Swift had 10 carries for 30 yards.
The Bears improve to 1-0. The Titans fall to 0-1 and face the Jets next week at noon. Caleb Williams is the first QB in 22 years to win their first game. As for the Bears? They look to take on the Texans next Sunday at 7:20 PM.
