Taylorville Volleyball Moves On To State

The Taylorville Tornadoes Varsity Volleyball team won two games to one in the Super Sectionals against Normal (University). The 34-6 Pioneers took an early lead against the Taylorville Tornadoes winning game 1 25-22.  The Tornadoes came back and settled into game 2 picking up their own win 26-24. Everything came down to game 3.  Taylorville picked up a 25-23 win in Game 3 to advance to the State Semifinals. 

 

The Tornadoes will face Nazarath Academy out of LaGrange Park who picked up a 2-0 win over St. Viator out of Arlington Heights.  The State Semifinals will take place next Friday November 11th, around 5:30 PM  at Redbird Arena in Normal at Illinois State University. The winner will take on either Catholic Academy out of Joliet or St. Francis out of Wheaton for the 3A State Championship.

 

All games on Friday and Saturday, will be heard on Groovy 97.3 WRAN.
