Although Charleston won both girls and boys overall at the Matoon Invitational Thursday evening; Tornadoes runner Anna Lowry took 1st place individually for Taylorville for the 2nd year in a row.

Lowry finished with a time of 19:03:98, 17 seconds faster than the year before.

Taylorville boys finished 4th overall and put just one runner in the top 10 with Luke Sloan finishing 8th for the Tornadoes on a time of 16:39:72. The Tornadoes girls squad finished 6th overall and had just 1 runner (Lowry) in the top 10. A total of 163 boys and 122 girls competed in the 3 mile race.

Taylorville Cross Country will compete next on Saturday at the Springfield Invitational. Race time is set to begin at 9:45am at Lincoln Park.
