Christian County Court Cases 9/15/17

These are the results of the following court cases heard in the Christian County Court on Friday, September 15th:

 

17CF098 - Paul E. Allen - Criminal Damage to Property Between $300 and $10,000 and Domestic Battery - Petition to Revoke / Pre-trial. Also 17CM105 - Battery - Pre-trial. State has made an offer this morning, defense counsel has not communicated offer to defendant. Pre-trial  and Petition to Revoke Hearing scheduled for October 17 at 2 p.m.

 

17CF183 - Pamela K. Benedict - Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer - Status hearing. Also 17CM113 - Disorderly Conduct and Resisting a Peace Officer and 15CM235 - Disorderly Conduct. She has not been able to hire an attorney. Public defender is appointed. First appearance with counsel is set for September 18 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF131 - Cory L. Blake - Criminal Damage to Property Between $500 and $10,000 - First Appearance with Counsel. Also 14CM203 - Consumption of Liquor as a Minor. Next court date scheduled for October 20 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF010 - Robert D. Burke - 4 Counts of Burglary - Status Hearing. An open plea is reached. He will plead guilty to all four counts. The case will be deferred to problem-solving court, and he will pay restitution to be agreed upon at a later date. Factual basis was given.

 

17CF056 - Erica K. Cunitz - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams - Petition to Revoke / First Appearance. Next court date scheduled for November 16 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF051 - Charles T. Lee - Meth Delivery Between 15 and 100 Grams and Aggravated Meth Delivery Between 15 and 100 Grams - Pre-trial. Negotiated Plea is reached. He will be sentenced to 18 years in prison with 3 years of parole. No more charges will be filed as part of the plea. Factual basis was given.

 

17CF190 - Markes N. Rodgers - Attempted Murder - Motion to Reduce Bail. Defense counsel asks for probation to conduct risk assessment of defendant. Bond reduction motion continued until September 21 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF184 - Michael P. Shilling - Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault - Motion to Reduce Bail. Motion to be continued generally until after preliminary hearing scheduled for October 2 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF126 - Jenna L. Sparling - Criminal Damage to Property Between $300 and $10,000 - Preliminary Hearing. Hearing is continued until September 29 at 10 a.m.

 

13CF198 - Lacey L. Sparling - Narcotics Possession, Manufacturing / Delivery of Cannabis Between 30 and 500 Grams, and Manufacturing / Delivery of Cannabis Between 10 and 30 Grams - Status Hearing. She has went through detox and in-patient rehab. She will be referred to problem solving court. Next court date set for October 17 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF189 - Curtis L. Worker - Aggravated Battery with a Victim Over Age 60 - Motion to Reduce Bail. Bond motion continued until September 29 at 10 a.m.

 

16CF065 - Matthew D. Swisher - Aggravated DUI Resulting in a Death - Negotiated Plea. Defendant will serve five years in prison and 2 years parole. Victim's mother and sister read statements before the court, along with defendant who apologized to the family.

 

17CF194 - Larry L. Scott - Attempted Murder -  First appearance. Charge was read, probable cause was given. New amended charge will be filed after this appearance. Bond set at $1,000,000. Public defender appointed. Next court date scheduled for September 18 at 10 a.m.
