Lesila Kay Letz, 81, of Springfield passed away at 4:25p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  She was born on November 4, 1938 in rural Taylorville, the daughter of Leslie & Leila (Schoning) Dishon.  She married Sydney Letz Jr. on January 11, 1969 in Springfield.  Lesila previously worked for the Springfield Mass Transit District as a driver.  She was proud of her job and was the second woman ever hired by the district.  She enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting and leather work.  Hunting, especially for coyotes was also a pastime she enjoyed. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.   
She is survived by her husband: Syd Letz Jr. of Springfield; daughter: Earlene Larson (Rick) of Springfield; son: Christopher Letz (Jackquline) of Springfield; step children: Sydney Letz III of Springfield, Robert Letz (Cindy) of Riverton, and Carlinda Yates of Springfield; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces; and brother: Minor Dishon of Neoga.  She was preceded in death by her parents; step son: Kevin Letz; and grandson: Dustin Dishon.
A private family graveside service and burial will take place at the Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, Illinois.  McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memories of Lesila, or condolences to the family, may be shared online at
