Janice Marie Buttram, 66, of Edinburg passed away at 7:04p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  She was born on March 6, 1952 in Springfield.  Jan owned and operated Jan’s Bar & Grill in Edinburg for 22 years, a business she was devoted to.  Aside from her business, Jan was a loving grandmother, affectionately known as “Gee” by Shelbi and Larson.

Jan is survived by her son: Mike Helton (Samantha) of Taylorville; grandchildren: Shelbi Huston (David) of Hull and Larson Helton of Taylorville; step-daughter: Shelly Warren (Kris) of Bulpitt; step-son: Aron Buttram of Decatur; step-grandchildren: Brandon Warren, Austin Warren, and Alaina Buttram; sisters: Shirley Blankenship (Ron) of Virden, Sharon Robinson (Rich) of Auburn, and Betty Clouse (Eric) of Springfield; brothers: Robert Charles Brown (Linda) of Richmond, Kentucky and Ron Brown (Beth) of Plainview; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles Brown and Dorothy Ilene (Richeson) Brown.

In keeping with her wishes, Jan will be cremated, and the family will host a celebration of her life at a later date.  The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of Jan’s friends for their support over the last few years.
