Area Arrests, Accidents, And Fire Calls 6/17/19

The Christian County Sheriff’s office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

39 year old Lloyd M. Rochkes of Taylorville was arrested Saturday.

 

38 year old Vernoica A. Sroczynski of Pana was arrested Sunday for a warrant from 2014.

 

22 year old Robert J. Deere of was arrested Saturday for DUI.

 

20 year old Ezekiel C. Weitekamp of Mechanicsburg was arrested Friday for Driving on suspended license. 

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to an accident on Friday afternoon on Illinois Route 48 near 970E.  A car driven by 33 year old Margaret K. Burke of Chesterfield struck a deer.  She was taken to Taylorville Memorial hospital for minor injuries.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to an accident on Sunday morning at 1775 N on Illinois Route 48.   A car driven by 23 year old Austin W. Dowdy of Stonington stated that he was driving too fast and struck the back of the car driven by 20 year old Colten A. Day of Blue Mound.  Both vehicles lost control.  Day’s car ended up on the railroad embankment and Dowdy’s car ended up in a field.  No injuries were reported.  Both vehicles were towed.  Dowdy received a citation.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to an accident on Saturday morning.  A car driven by 22 year old Robert J. Deere of Pana was headed north on 2600 East Road at about 282 North, lost control driving through a grass yard and into the parking lot of the Pana Bait business.  Deere’s vehicle struck a concrete structure that formed a loading dock causing major damage to the loading dock and Deere’s vehicle.  Medical attention was refused.  Deere received multiple citations.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

38 year old Veronica A. Scroczynski was arrested Sunday evening for a valid Christian County warrant.

 

38 year old Billy J. Brown was arrested Sunday evening for driving while license suspended.

 

18 year old Trae A. Fisher and a juvenile male were arrested Saturday evening for retail theft.

 
25 year old Tracy D. Williams of Groveland was arrested Wednesday on a Christian County warrant.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Friday afternoon.  A minor from Pana was driving westbound on Springfield Road near Cheney Street in Taylorville and did not stop in time striking the back of the vehicle driven by 72 year old Delbert M. McCann of Rochester.  No injuries were reported.  The minor received a citation.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a accident on Thursday morning at East Park and Walnut in Taylorville.  58 year old Marty E. Cowgill of Taylorville drove through the red light.  33 year old Nathanial R. Stockton of Taylorville was turning left onto E. Park from Walnut and had the green light.  Cowgill’s vehicle struck Stockton’s causing damage to both vehicles.  Cowgill was given a citation for disobeying a traffic control device. 


The Taylorville Fire Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

There were 13 EMS calls between 9:53 Friday morning and 5:08 Monday morning.

 

The Pana Police Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

53 year old Theodore J. Gannon of Pana was arrested on May 23rd for theft .

 

Pana Police Officers responded to a traffic stop on the early morning of June 11th with 20 year old Kyla A. Brown of Shelbyville and 33 year old Robbie L. Gatons of Tower Hill were on bicycles without proper lighting.  During the investigation Brown was revealed as being wanted for a warrant out of Shelby County. While doing a search, officers found a pipe with possible methamphetamine.  In the search on Gatons, Officers found a pipe and suspected methamphetamine.  Both subjects were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and transported to Christian County Jail.

 

On May 11th, Pana Police Officers were notified of an incident of sexual assault at a house in Pana.  No further information is available.  

 

On the night of June 3rd, Pana Police Officers were dispatched to 317 Kennedy Street for a domestic in progress.  During the investigation, it was revealed that 32 year old Keffery L. Cothern shot her boyfriend with a BB gun causing minor injury.  Medical treatment was refused and Cothern was transported to Christian County Jail.

 

18 year old Lucas R. Cohan of Nokomis was arrested on the early morning of June 5th.  After a traffic stop, Cohan’s vehicle was searched due to the smell of cannabis, and the drivers actions.  During the search, police found methamphetamine on Cohan.  He was placed under arrested and transported to Christian County Jail.

 

19 year old John P. Holthaus of Pana was arrested the morning of June 8th for drug paraphernalia.

 

44 and 20 year old Chad And Quentin Mckittrick of Pana were arrested on the morning of June 9th for Christian County warrants.  Both were transported to the Christian County Jail.
