Shelby County Arrests May 31-June 9th

The Shelby County Sheriff’s office reported the following to Regional Radio News:

 

31 year old Crystal N. Smith of Salem was arrested the afternoon of May 31st for disorderly conduct and unlawful use of an intoxicating substance.  She was transported to the Detention Center for processing and later posted bond.

 

29 year old Nykki D. McFarland of Pana was arrested the evening of June 4th for driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at Route 16 West of Seneca Street.  She was transported to the detention center and later posted bond.

 

35 year old Brett D. Chapman of Cowden was arrested the evening of June 6th for aggravated domestic battery/great bodily harm after deputies were dispatched to a residence for a domestic in progress.  He was transported to the Detention Center awaiting a court appearance. 

 

28 year old Garrett W. Jewell of Neoga was issued citations on the afternoon of June 7th.  Jewell was cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to wear a seat belt and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic accident at 235N 3200 East Road.  When the Sheriff’s Office responded the white Chevrolet 2500 pickup was laying on its side west of the roadway after striking a tree and rolling to the bottom of the hill.  Garrett was flown from the scene due to his injuries.

 

32 year old Michelle A. Byford of Greenup was arrested on the evening of June 7th for battery after an altercation at a residence.  She was transported to the Detention Center for processing and alter posted bond.

 

21 year old Hayle M. Smith of Effingham was arrested the morning of June 9th for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction after a traffic stop at Route 16 and 1100E.  38 year old Eric L. Miller of Watson was also arrested for obstruction.  They were both transported to the Detention Center for processing and later posted bond.
