Area Arrests, Accidents, And Fire Calls 6/7/19

The Christian County Sheriff’s office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

26 year old Dillon T. Lucas of Kincaid was arrested Thursday for leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage.

 

58 year old Donald L. Lozier of Pana was arrested Thursday for violating an order of protection.

 

23 year old Anthoney R. Chavez of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for contempt of court.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Thursday morning as a vehicle driven by 44 year old Robert L. Hill of Virden was traveling northbound on Township road 1075 E when he stopped at the stop sign for the intersection of Illinois Route 104.  Hill was going to go west on Route 104.  A vehicle driven by 53 year old Jacqueline L. Waterman was behind Hills car.  Hill stated that a semi truck with trailer was traveling eastbound on Route 104 and was slowing to turn right onto Township Road 1075E.  Hill advised that he thought the semi truck was going to let him turn but the semi truck proceeded to make a wide angle turn onto Township Road 1075 E.  Hill backed up his vehicle to give the truck room, and backed into Waterman’s vehicle.  No injuries were reported.  Waterman’s vehicle received damage.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Thursday morning when a vehicle driven by 29 year old Joseph W. Bowen of Pawnee lost control of his vehicle heading southbound on County Highway 11 just north of County Road 1800 North Road. Bowen crossed the northbound lane and entered the east ditch.  Bowen traveled 70 feet through the ditch and struck a utility pole.  It snapped off at the base and trapped the driver inside.  He was extricated by EMS. Bowen was transported to St. John’s Hospital.

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle driven by 20 year old Jonathan E. Kleckner of Pawnee was westbound on Illinois Route 104.  A heavy thunderstorm was in progress at the time of the crash and there was water in the road.  Kleckner started to slide at 521 East hydroplaning off the road. Kleckner traveled 100 feet in the ditch hitting some trees and resting in a ditch facing southwest.  No injuries were reported.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call on Wednesday morning when the vehicle driven by 64 year old Janet K. Christopherson of Morrisonville did not see the vehicle driven by 61 year old Debra K. Forbes of Morrisonville turning left onto S E 5th street from Lauer Street.  No injuries were reported.    

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

23 year old Anthony R. Chavez of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for a Douglas County warrant.

 

37 year old Caleb Walker of Taylorville was arrested Thursday for violating an order of protection.

 

65 year old Sally A. Tirey of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday on a Macon County warrant.

 

26 year old Dillon T. Lucas of Kincaid was arrested for a valid Sangamon County warrant.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on Monday afternoon on Illinois Route 29. 91 year old Robert E. Protko of Taylorville failed to reduce speed and collided with the rear end of the vehicle driven by 22 year old Stephanie P. Conlin of Shelbyville. This caused Conlin’s vehicle to be shoved into the back end of the vehicle driven by 26 year old Kayla P. Sparling of Taylorville.  Protko’s airbag deployed and was wedged behind the brake pedal preventing the driver from stopping and Protko’s vehicle turned southbound down a dead end road colliding with a fence ¼ mile down the road.  Protko was given a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.  Sparling’s vehicle was the only driveable vehicle after the crash.  No injuries were reported.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to an accident on Thursday afternoon at 915 West Spresser.  A car driven by 30 year old Nicole L. Bland of Taylorville was waiting on traffic to clear to turn left from the Marsango Plaza parking lot.  Bland stated that the person in the westbound lane waved her out, but as Bland pulled out she was struck by 23 year old Jericho Dickey of Edinburg.  No injuries were reported.


The Taylorville Fire Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

There were 8 EMS calls between 7:00 Thursday morning and 5:23 Friday morning.
