Area Arrests, Accidents, And Fire Calls 5/2/19

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a vehicle accident on Tuesday at 10PM on Illinois Route 29 near 1900 North Road.  A car driven by 37 year old Komal K. Choudhary of Taylorville lost control of the vehicle in heavy rain and water on the road.  Choudhary’s vehicle went into the ditch causing the airbags to deploy.  Choudhary was able to drive away from the scene.  No injuries reported.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a vehicle accident on Tuesday at 10:20 PM on 300 East Road in Taylorville.  A truck driven by John S. Wilson of Hillsboro lost control of his vehicle and went into the ditch.  The vehicle turned over on its side and came to rest on the passenger side.  Medical treatment was refused.  The truck was towed away.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a vehicle accident on Wednesday at 7:51 AM at Pana Township Road 250 North and 6th Street Road in Pana.  A car driven by Melinda S. Roderfeld of Cartersville, Georgia failed to stop at the intersection of 250 North.  As Roderfeld’s car slid through the intersection, it was hit on the right side by a truck driven by Jamie L. Jeffers of Pana.  All occupents of each vehicle was transported by EMS to the hospital. Both vehicles needed to be towed.  Roderfeld was given a citation.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a hit and run accident on Wednesday at 10:32 PM on West 2nd Street in Pana.  Pana police responded to Casey’s General Store to locate Michael D. South of Herrick.  South had a valid warrant out of Shelby County.  Pana police blocked the exit to the store in an effort to keep him from fleeing.  South drove his van in reverse striking Pana Police officer Nathan Smith’s squad car.  South fled the scene and eluded police.  The van was found unoccupied later at a residence in Pana.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a vehicle accident on Illinois Route 104 near 325 East Road on Friday April 26th at 8:55 PM.  A car driven by Tammy L. Harter of Dawson struck a deer crossing the roadway.  No injuries were reported.

 

The Christian County Sheriff’s office responded to a call of a vehicle accident at 250 North Road and 2650 East on Tuesday at 4:40 PM in Pana.  Jared A. Snow of Pana lost control of his vehicle and hit a wired guardrail followed by a utility pole causing the pole to break.  Snow was issued a citation.  Snow refused treatment, his passenger was taken to Pana Community Hospital. 
 
The Christian County Sheriff’s office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

45 year old Abigail D. Brest of Kincaid was arrested on Thursday for possession of a controlled substance.

 

34 Year old Benjamin D. Buus of Atwater was arrested Wednesday for driving on a suspended license.  

 

28 year old Joshua C. Wells of Taylorville was arrested Wednesday for domestic battery.

 

52 year old Forrest R. Wood of Benald was arrested Wednesday for possesssion of a stolen vehicle and driving on a suspended license.

 

45 year old Michael D. South of Herrick was arrested Thursday for leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage and failure to answer questions and multiple warrants.

 

60 year old Bruce W. Michel of Stonington was arrested Thursday for battery.

 

37 year old Jared R. Bartimus of Pana was arrested Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine, meth delivery, and suspended license.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News;

 

45 year old Abigail D. Brest of Kincaid was arrested for driving while license suspended operating a uninsured vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

 

37 year old Jared R. Bartimus of Pana was arrested for driving while license revoked possession of meth and meth delivery.

 

27 year old Amanda M. Stickel of Taylorville was arrested for possession of stolen motor vehicle and driving while suspended.

 

The Taylorville Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Langleyville Road and Briarcliffe Road on Wednesday at 1:06 PM in Taylorville.  A car driven by Margaret Lemanski of Taylorville was traveling westbound on Langleyville Road when she decided to turn onto Briarcliffe and hit the car driven by Jo A. Brown of Taylorville.  Lemanski received a citation.  No injuries were reported. 

 

The Taylorville Fire Department reported the following to Regional Radio News;

 

There were four EMS calls between 9:35 Wednesday morning and 2:24 Thursday morning.
