Area Arrests/Accidents 8/03/18

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Friday:

 

Jessica Ford of Illiopolis was in an accident on July 29th at approximately 9:19 at night. Ford was traveling Northbound on 1300 East road. She drove off the road and into a ditch at 2250 North. Ford traveled through the ditch and her car became overturned and came to a rest on its top on the east side of 1300 East Road. Ford refused medical treatment on the scene, and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Ford’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

44 year old Michael Dodson of Pana was arrested on Friday on a charge of domestic battery.

 

30 year old Bradley Stimac of Edinburg was arrested on Thursday on a charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm.

 

32 year old Michael Pitman of Girard was arrested on Thursday on a charge of possesion of a controlled substance, and possession of methamphetamine.

 

39 year old Douglas Cowell of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday on a charge of violating an order of protection.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Friday:

 

26 year old Garret Ess of Taylorville, 20 year old Lindsey Hill of Kincaid, and 19 year old Lauren Suiter of Taylorville were in an accident on July 31st at 5:03 in the afternoon. Hill and Suiter were stopped in traffic at the intersection of Springfield Road and Taft street facing east. Ess was approaching from behind both units. According to a witness, Ess hit the brakes, but just before impact. Ess was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Ess and Hill’s vehicles were towed from the scene. All drivers refused medical attention at the scene.

 

16 year old Rylee Miller of Taylorville, and 45 year old Denise Burke of Taylorville were in an accident on August 2nd at 11:57 in the morning. According to the accident report,Miller thought that Burke was in a turn lane, not a regular lane causing an accident between the two vehicles. Miller was cited for failure to yield turning left. Burke was sent to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a personal vehicle. Burke’s vehicle was also towed from the scene. There were no passengers involved in the accident.
