Area Arrests/Accidents 7/16/18

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Monday:

 

54 year old Steven Lowis of Palmer was in an accident on July 12th at 4:25 in the morning. Lowis was traveling north east on Illinois Route 48 at 1050 North. According to the accident report, a deer entered the roadway and Lowis hit the deer. Lowis continued driving until he got to the Christian County Sheriff’s office for report.

89 year old Rosemary Mundhenke of Morrisonville was in an accident July 12th at 7:16 in the morning. Mundhenke was traveling northeast on Illinois Route 48 when at 770 East, a dear came into the roadway. Mundshenke struck the deer causing front end damage to her vehicle, and Mundhenke’s car was towed from the scene by Larry Auto Service. There were no injuries.

 

26 year old Maxx Ellinger of Taylorville was in an accident on July 12th at 10:37 at night. Ellinger was traveling south on 1025 East Road at about 1400 North. A deer entered the roadway from the west and was moving east. According to the report, Ellinger hit the deer in the roadway causing a wreck. Ellinger’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Kertows.

 

48 year old Richard Thurow of Palmer was in an accident on July 13th at 3:45 in the afternoon. Deputy Goebel was called to a traffic accident in Palmer last Friday. According to the accident report, when Goebel arrived at the scene, Thurow explained what had happened. According to Thurow, he is an over the road truck driver and left Palmer on July 8th, and came back July 13th. Thurow said that while he was gone, an unknown person took his vehicle for a drive, and hit a deer. Thurow mentioned that his vehicle was parked in the same place as when he left it on Sunday, and that he did not give anyone permission to drive his vehicle. Thurow left his vehicle at his place of employment, and there was damage on the front drivers side.

 

84 year old Barbara Jasper of Oreana, and 55 year old Elizabeth Curlin of Decatur were in an accident on July 14th at 10:38 in the morning. Curlin was stopped in the roadway at a designated railroad crossing waiting on a train to pass. Jasper ran into the back of Curlin’s vehicle while stopped at the crossing waiting for the train. There were two passengers involved, both were in Curlin’s car, JT Kramer and Shirley Kramer of Decatur. There were no injuries.

 

34 year old Molly Kitchens of Blue Mound was arrested on Saturday on a charge of managing a controlled substance.

 

25 year old Samantha Andring of Pawnee was arrested on Friday on a charge of driving under the influence.

 

32 year old Jenna Sparling of Taylorville was arrested on Saturday on a charge of criminal damage to property, and retail theft.

 

28 year old Brandon Emery of Taylorville was arrested on Friday on a charge of residential burglary.

 

44 year old Michael Dodson of Pana was arrested on Saturday on a charge of violation of a bail bond.

 

The Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests and accidents to Regional Radio News on Monday:

 

43 year old Earl Mack of Baldwin was in an accidente July 11th at 8:35 in the morning. According to the accident report, Mack had turned into a parking lot at 2493 South Spresser Street to turn back onto the roadway. While making the turn, Mack hit a concrete barrier and also dug ruts into the gravel drive. Mack was able to drive away from the scene.

 

23 year old Sarah Morillo of Taylorville was in an accident on July 14th at 2:51 in the morning. Morillo was traveling southbound on South Cheney Street when she struck Unit 2, who was parked on the roadway in front of their residence. Morillo struck the rear of Unit 2 causing unit 2 to roll into the intersection of Cheney and Adams street. Morillo also caused damaged to Unit 2’s chain-link fence. Morillo was towed from the scene, and nobody needed medical attention. Morillo was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and was arrested for driving with a suspended license, and driving while under the influence.

 

21 year old Broderick Walton of Edinburg and 64 year old Rebecca McPeck of Taylorville were in an accident on July 11th at 5:17 in the afternoon. According to the accident report, Walton failed to yield to traffic while turning south onto Webster Street from Park Street. McPeck was traveling east on Park Street when Walton pulled out infront of her causing McPeck to collide with Walton on the passenger side of his vehicle. McPeck was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital in a Dunn’s ambulance. Walton refused medical assistance. There were no passengers involved.

 

32 year old Jenna Sparling of Taylorville was arrested on Saturday for a Sangamon and Christian County Warrant.

 

23 year old Sara Morillo of Taylorville was arrested for driving under the influence, and driving on a suspended license.
