Area Arrests/Accidents 11/16/17

On Thursday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrest to Regional Radio News:

 

34-year-old Austin J. Haddock of Owaneco was arrested Wednesday on a Sangamon County Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $3,000.

 

On Thursday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

77-year-old Fred Mahnke of Shelbyville was driving westbound on Springfield Road Wednesday. 40-year-old Kelly S. Niendick of Blue Mound was stopped at the intersection with Webster and Bidwell Streets behind 75-year-old Arlen W. Kimball of Divernon. Mahnke could not stop in time and rear-ended Niendick’s vehicle. The impact took Niendick’s car into Kimball’s vehicle. No one was hurt. Mahnke was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

 

70-year-old William H. Otey of Taylorville was driving northbound in the 600 block of Esther St. Wednesday. 32-year-old Heather M. Bartlett of Taylorville was driving southbound on the same block. Otey said there was a parked car and he went to go around the vehicle and did not see Bartlett. Bartlett says there was no parked car and Otey came into her lane striking her vehicle. No one was hurt.

 

On Thursday, the Pana Police Department reported the following arrest and incident to Regional Radio News:


21-year-old Chandler R. Hankins of Salem was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and driving while license suspended. Hankins’ vehicle was also towed and impounded.


A complainant reported a burglary that occurred in the 800 block of E. Third Street sometime on Saturday. An unknown person(s) entered the unlocked home, taking several items include clothing, prescription medicine and a flat screen TV. The stolen items value over $500. The case is under investigation.


On Thursday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accident to Regional Radio News:


21-year-old Tyler L. Foster of Tower Hill was driving north on S. Poplar St. 38-year-old Megan N. Geisler of Pana was stopped with her left turn signal on waiting to turn onto E. 6th St. Foster reached to grab a tissue in his car and while distracted, he rear-ended Geisler. No injuries were reported. Foster was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

 

On Thursday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:


41-year-old Jason W. Woodcock of Moweaqua was arrested Wednesday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $250.


43-year-old Shane P. Lawrence of Shelbyville was arrested Thursday for DUI.
