Area Arrests/Accidents 8/30/17

On Wednesday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

59-year-old Harvey D. Presnell, Jr. of Pana was backing a concrete mixer into a residential construction area in the 900 block of W. Rich St. Tuesday. He backed the mixer into a utility pole with the concrete chute, causing the wires to come down and knocking out power to the area. Live power lines were down and residents were notified by Taylorville Fire Department. No injuries were reported.

 

29-year-old Nathan K. Peck of Taylorville was exiting Hillcrest Trailer Court onto E. Main Cross St. Tuesday when an unknown vehicle struck his vehicle. The unknown vehicle continued eastbound on E. Main Cross and did not stop. Peck continued from the scene of impact until he stopped at the intersection of E. Park and McAdam, where he contacted Taylorville Police. Peck described the car as a white vehicle of unknown make or model.

 

53-year-old Robert D. Campbell was driving westbound on Northern Avenue Saturday. He was slowed to make a left turn onto North Sportsman Drive. An unknown vehicle was following Campbell and two school busses. When the vehicles slowed to turn, the unknown vehicle changed lanes and passed both busses and Campbell. The unknown vehicle swerved back into the westbound lane and struck the front of Campbell’s vehicle.

 

On Wednesday, the Pana Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

77-year-old Roger E. Day of Springfield was driving westbound on Washington Street, getting ready to turn left onto Locust Street Monday. He failed to yield to 65-year-old Dennis W. Dilley of Pana who was eastbound on Washington. Dilley struck Day on the passenger side. Day was issued a citation for failure to yield while turning left and and Dilley was issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

 

20-year-old Shelby L. Craig of Oconee was backing from a driveway in the 300 block of South Clark St. Tuesday. She struck the car of 47-year-old Kermit N. Carrell while in reverse. Craig was cited for improper backing.

 

 

On Wednesday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News:


23-year-old Zachery Morgason of Springfield was arrested Tuesday for Driving on a Suspended/Revoked License. Bond is set at $1,500.


49-year-old (50-year-old on Thursday) Melinda D. Mahone of Taylorville was arrested Tuesday for Driving on a Suspended/Revoked License, DUI - Alcohol, and Possession of Methamphetamine.


51-year-old Edward R. Northcraft of Morristown, Tennessee was arrested Tuesday on a Bond Forfeiture warrant. Bond is set at $10,000.
