Area Arrests/Accidents 9/21/16

On Wednesday the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

29 year old Katharine L. Waggoner of Taylorville was arrested on Tuesday.


 

ACCIDENTS:

 

On September 16th, 32 year old Danielle J. Hendershot of Assumption was traveling south on 2525 East Road. At 1600 North, Hendershot came to an unmarked T-intersection. Hendershot ran off the road, hitting a ditch, and was taken to Pana Community Hospital via Assumption Ambulance to be treated for injuries.

 

On September 19th, 37 year old Nathan I. Holste of Taylorville was on a motorcycle heading eastbound on County Highway 6. 57 year old Barry M. Keller of Pocahontas was driving a semi tractor trailer, eastbound on County Highway 6. Keller stated he activated his right turn signal, slowed, and began to make a right turn. Holste failed to slow in time for the turning tractor-trailer, skidded about 150 feet, and struck the right rear of the trailer. Keller was not injured, however Holste was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital via Suttons Ambulance to be treated for injuries.

 

On September 19th, 36 year old Christina M. Compton of Pana was traveling southbound on IL Rt. 51. At about 100 North, a deer came into the roadway and Compton struck the deer with the front of the vehicle. Compton’s vehicle had damage to the front end of the vehicle. No injuries were reported.


On September 20th 74 year old Marshal T. Froelich of Taylorville was attempting to turn North on Webster St. from West Spresser. 20 year old Kolten J. Miller of Taylorville was westbound on West Spresser, and stated that he was waiting to turn left, and the light began to change from yellow from green. He stated he thought the intersection was clear, and began to turn. Froelich turned in front of Miller and was struck in the passenger’s side. Miller stated he was Westbound on Spresser, approaching the intersection with Webster. Miller driver stated the light began to change to yellow from green and he entered the intersection, striking Froelich in the intersection. Froelich was issued a citation for failure to yield turning left.
