Area Arrests/Accidents 9/16/16

On Friday the Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests to Regional Radio News.

 

39 year old Jessica N. Brockmiller of Bulpitt was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for meth delivery. Bond was set at $10,000.

 

28 year old Michael W. Emery of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for aggravated battery.

 

46 year old Randall C. Smith of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday for driving with a suspended license.

 


 

ACCIDENTS:

 

On September 14th 22 year old Desiree Smith of Taylorville  was parked in the Colonial Pantry parking lot in Stonington. Smith was facing the business and was to the east of the front doors. A second car was parked at a gas pump, located south of the front doors. Smith backed from the parking stall and struck the other car as it was parked. The drivers of the second car were identified as Jacob A. Miller who was inside the business at the time of the accident. Smith’s vehicle received rear end damage. Miller’s car recieved passenger side damage. No injuries were reported.

 

On September 15th 61 year old Bradley M. Bona of Taylorville  was traveling southbound on County Highway 1 and was slowing to turn left onto Township Road 1000 North. 19 year old Kayla J. Jett of Nokomis was also traveling southbound on County Highway 1 and was behind Bona. Jett stated she was distracted by her dog in the vehicle and when she looked up, she saw the lights of Bona’s vehicle. Jett was unable to stop in time to avoid striking Bona’s vehicle. Jett’s vehicle received major front end damage, with Bona’s vehicle receiving rear end damage. Jett was taken by a private vehicle to Taylorville Memorial Hospital to be treated for possible injuries.

 

On September 15th 41 year old James E. Goodrich of Blue Mound was traveling south on County Road 2525 East. Goodrich traveled off the road and into the ditch. Goodrich’s vehicle had front end damage, but was able to drive away from the scene.

 

On September 12th, 26 year old Cody A. Harrison of Taylorville was northbound on Cheney St. Harrison struck the curb on the east side of the roadway, then crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with 76 year old Carol L. Haubold of Taylorville head on in the southbound lane. Both drivers were transported by EMS for medical treatment, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

 

On September 12th Daniel W. Austin’s vehicle was parked unoccupied in a private parking lot, where it was struck by an unknown vehicle causing damage to the drivers side rear quarter panel, bumper cover, tire, and wheel. White paint was noticed in the damaged area. Austin did not notice the damage until he returned to his residence. The unknown vehicle did not stop after striking Austin’s car, and has not been located.


On September 14th 25 year old Joseph A. Leckner of Taylorville was westbound on W. Rich St. 17 year old Claudia R. Lynn of Owaneco was southbound on Cheney St. Lynn stated that Leckner did not stop at the stop sign and began pulling into the intersection. Lynn stated she attempted to avoid a collision by swerving and braking, but could not avoid the collision. Leckner stated he thought Lynn also had a stop sign, as driver of Lynn was slowing down at the intersection. Leckner struck Lynn causing damage to passenger side front of Leckner’s vehicle, and driver’s side damage to Lynn’s vehicle. Lynn’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Leckner parked his vehicle on private property and considered having it towed after talking with the vehicle’s  owner. Leckner was issued a citation.
