Area Arrests/Accidents 4-7-2016

On Thursday, April 7th, the Christian County Sherrifs Office reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:

 

On 4/5/16 24 year old Christian E. Crowder was traveling northbound on 2700 East Road in Montgomery County in a 2007 Nissan Quest. Crowder neared the intersection at 00 North Road and 1800 East Road in Christian County. Crowder went through the off set intersection without stopping. Crowder went off the roadway traveling northbound and hit a utility pole owned by Shelby Electric.Crowder came to rest in the east ditch on 1800 East Road and 00 North Road. Crowder had damage to the front end of the vehicle and also the rear end. The utility pole had damage to the bottom of the pole but was still standing. Crowder’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Taylorville Towing. Crowder was given a citation for operating a vehicle when registration is revoked. Shelby Electric was informed of the damage to the utility pole.

 

16 year old Drew M. Pettijohn was traveling Eastbound on 900 N Road and came to the intersection at 400 E Road. Pettijohn stated that he was driving too fast when he entered the intersection, which is a slight incline.  became airborn for approx. 60 ft. Pettijohn then began to slide sideways. Pettijohn slid sideways down the roadway for approx. 195 ft before spinning around backwards. Pettijohn entered the ditch on the south side of the roadway and struck the south side of the ditch with the passenger side of the rear bumper. Pettijohn then spun 180 degrees, facing East, before coming to rest in the ditch.


 

 

On Thursday, April 7th the Taylorville Police Department reported the following accidents to Regional Radio News:


On 4-5-16 officers were dispatched to Park at East Main Cross for an accident with no injuries. Upon arrival officers made contact with both parties. 29 year old William D. Thomas who was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sedan said he rear ended 38 year old Corey L. Bland who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. Neither party reported injuries. Thomas’ vehicle was towed, due to extensive front end damage. Thomas was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
