Area Arrests/Accidents 4-1-16

On Friday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

24 year-old Anthony J. Dickson of Taylorville was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $3,000.

 

23 year-old Ryan A. Strohl of Pana was arrested on Thursday on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license. Bond was set at $5,000.

 

20 year-old Dylan L. Carroll of Pana was arrested on Friday for threatening a public official. Bond was set at $20,000.

 

Accidents:

 

28 year-old Joshua P. Green of Taylorville was driving a 1997 Chevrolet S10, traveling northwest on Illinois Route 29. At approximately 550 North, Green advised he noticed a small animal in the roadway, and stated it was either a raccoon or opossum. Green stated he swerved to miss the animal, then lost control of his S10. His vehicle rolled twice and turned 90 degrees to the right. His vehicle then came to rest off the left edge of the roadway on its top facing to the northeast. Greer was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital, while a passenger in his vehicle was not injured. The accident occurred on March 26 at 9:26 a.m.

 

65 year-old Lynn M. Battles of Nokomis, was driving her 2000 Ford Focus southbound on 2500 East Road. 60 year-old Patricia A. Kime of Tower Hill was driving her 2008 CTS Cadillac, eastbound on 900 North Road. Both vehicles approached the unmarked intersection at approximately the same time and collided in the intersection. Drivers of both vehicles advised they had not seen the other vehicle as they approached the intersection. Skid marks on 900 North Road indicate Kime’s vehicle approximately 10 feet prior to the collision. Upon the collision, Battles’ vehicle was forced off the roadway due to the collision. Once off the roadway, Battles’ Ford Focus rolled 90 degrees and turned 180 degrees before coming to rest on its passenger side in the field, approximately 30 feet to the east of 2500 East Road and approximately 60 feet to the south of 900 North Road. Battles’ was taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by ambulance, while Kime was taken to Pana Community Hospital by ambulance. Battles was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way in an intersection. The accident occurred on March 31 at 4:37 p.m.

 

On Friday, the Taylorville Police Department reported the following arrests to Regional Radio:

 

34 year-old Justin R. Sherman of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license revoked and for a Christian County warrant. He was arrested along with 25 year-old Brianne L. Hughes of Taylorville for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Accident:

Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at Spresser and Clay Streets. 37 year-old Billie D. Nation of Taylorville stated, she was driving her 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix and that 18 year-old Maddison B. Allen of Taylorville, operating a 2006 Jeep Wagon 4 Door, had stopped in front of her and she could not stop in time and struck the rear of Allen’s vehicle. Allen stated she stopped because there was a vehicle that stopped in front of her and she was struck in the rear end by Nation. No injuries were reported. Nation’s Pontiac received front end damage and Allen had rear end damage. Nation was issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. The accident occurred on March 30 at 12:53 p.m.
