The FBI was the topic at the weekly Taylorville Kiwanis Meeting on Tuesday June 25th. Brad Ware from the Springfield field office detailed their responsibility to investigate the two broad areas of national security and criminal priorities. National security priorities include terrorism, counterintelligence, and cyber crimes. Criminal priorities include public corruption, civil rights, violent crime and major thefts, organized crime, and white-collar crime. While we all know of many cases of corruption and various crime and theft in downstate Illinois, many were surprised to learn that two people in the Springfield FBI office jurisdicttion were convicted of terrorisist actions.  For more information on Kiwanis go to www.taylorvillekiwanis .com
