Local Author Kevin Corley will speak this week at the Taylorville Public Library. The author of “Sixteen Tons” will be at the Library Thursday to discuss the historical novel, which largely takes place in Christian County in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The novel concerns coal miners and efforts to unionize, and depicts a number of real events. Corley tells Regional Radio that it was actually a fairly easy novel to write:
