Tuesday Night Wrap Up from The Hardwood; THS Boys/Girls & Shelbyville Boys Basketball

Taylorville boys fell last night to Alton 56-36 in a ball game for THS where the final score did not necessarily represent the overall game play. The Redbirds turned it over just 5 times in the 2nd half to finish with 11 overall against Taylorville's 15. Tornadoes struggled to string shots together in the 3rd quarter when Alton was hitting from everywhere.

THS head coach Ryan Brown said in the Newstalk WTIM post game show his team just could not get over the hump late in this one.

Tornadoes girls basketball took on the Flaming Hearts of Effingham last night and fell in a close one 61-58. THS used the 3-ball to their advantage throughout the night but the Hearts hung around all night and ultimately overtook the Lady Tornadoes in the final regular season game for THS this season.

THS head coach, Mark Hannant said after the game that this is game his team could have easily came away with but they hope to get another shot having Effingham in their Regional this year.

Shelbyville Rams were in action last night as well on their home floor for a Central Illinois Conference match up with Sullivan. The Rams took down Sullivan 55-50 in a close ball game.

Rams head coach Bob Herdes said that this Sullivan team was ready to play and this game was like a lot in the CIC, too close for comfort, regardless of what the scouting report says on paper.
