Pana Football Wins in Close One

Pana High School Football has seen their defense step up throughout the year to push them through to where they are today, the playoffs. The Panthers pitched 5 shutouts on the year and only allowed an average of 10 points per game to opposing teams throughout the regular season. Last Saturday afternoon the defense was called on once again to hold on and give Pana their 9th win of the season, which they obliged by a final score of 36-35.

Although, the game was very close, Head Coach Trevor Higgins told Newstalk WTIM's Coaches Show last Saturday before the game that he has the utmost confidence in his squad.

Pana will face an undefeated Newton High School team next weekend in round 2 of the Class 3A IHSA State Football Playoffs.
