Tornadoes Football Look to Take Down Rival Mt. Zion Tonight

Taylorville Football looks to stay undefeated when they face off against Mt. Zion in week 5 tonight at 7pm. The Tornadoes are 4-0 overall, 1-0 in Apollo conference play and have high hopes in the rivalry game against the Braves who sit at 3-1.

Taylorville Head Coach, Jeb Odam says that the similarity of the teams means that simply taking care of the ball might be the deciding factor in this match up.

The Tornadoes share similar offensive numbers with the Braves in Average Points Per Game, 39 for Taylorville and 33.5 for Mt. Zion; as well as similarities in Points Scored where the advantage is slightly in Taylorville's favor at 157 to 134.

However, “The Wrecking Crew” that is the Tornaodes defense has only allowed 26 points on the season compared to Mt. Zion's 53.

Pre game for this contest can be heard at 6:40pm on Newstalk WTIM 96.1FM in Christian County and 107.5FM in Shelby County and streamed online at taylorvilledailynews.com

Coach Odam appeared as a guest on Newstalk WTIM's Coaches Show.
