Drug Bust In Taylorville Results In Four Arrests

The Taylorville Police Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, and the Central Illinois Enforcement Group executed a drug investigation which resulted in a search warrant being conducted at 608 South Arlington in Taylorville. Taylorville Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler says it all started because of calls about drug trafficking.

During the execution of the search warrant, contraband was confiscated including methamphetamine. 50-year-old William Scott Single of Taylorville was arrested. Single was charged with unlawful use of a residence in response to methamphetamine delivery. 42-year-old Nicholas J. Dyer of Taylorville was arrested.  Dyer was charged with methamphetamine delivery. 21-year-old James M. Assad Jr. of Taylorville was arrested for a valid Christian County Warrant. 22-year-old Tracy L. Stevens of Decatur was also arrested for methamphetamine delivery. Chief Wheeler says Taylorville is a safe place to live, but that Taylorville has a drug problem and he intends to fix it.

The investigation is still ongoing.  Anyone with a tip should call the Taylorville Police Department or Christian County Sheriff’s office.
