City Council Honors Senator Manar At Bi-Monthly Meeting

Taylorville City Council met for the second time in July and was able to get a lot of business taken care of.  The payment was approved for materials for the sidewalks and curbs for the First National Bank parking lot project along West Main Cross, Webster, and Market Streets, with First National Bank paying labor costs.  It was also approved to provide reimbursement for the School Resource Officer from this last school year.  Senator Andy Manar was honored for his efforts in securing Taylorville $500,000 towards tornado relief.  Mayor Bruce Barry thanked him and the VFW, who participated in their annual PTSD ride over the weekend.

Mayor Barry also encouraged everyone to attend the Christian County Fair next week and spoke of a Town Hall meeting that new Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler will be having on July 30th.

Alderman Larry Budd announced that they will be discussing the motor fuel tax fund on Thursday and all who want to know more about the status of it, should attend the event Thursday evening at 6 at the ordinance and finance committee meeting.
