The S-I-U Center for Family Medicine, which has been providing primary doctor care to patients while being housed inside Taylorville Memorial Hospital since January, has announced it will re-locate to a free-standing building at 303 East Bidwell next to Kroger in Taylorville, in September.

Doctor Janet Albers, who is leading SIU's Taylorville efforts, tells Regional Radio News that SIU will be expanding the services they provide in Taylorville, with the move.

Doctor Albers added that SIU will also expand their mental health services at the new Taylorville location.

Doctor Albers answered the question as to why would a health care patient go to SIU with 4 other primary medical providers in Taylorville.

And, Doctor Albers says the move to to a free-standing building in Taylorville will make SIU eligible as a federallly qualified health center.

Again, SIU Family Medicine doctors that are providing services while being housed at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, will move to a free-standing building at 303 East Bidwell next to Kroger, in September.
