Murder Suspect Leads Multiple Agencies In Pursuit That Ends In Taylorville (WITH UPDATES)

UPDATED: Noon July 8th.  A man wanted in connection with a murder in Shelbyville in the block of 100 N. Will Street led police on a high-speed chase Monday morning around 8:30 from Shelby County to Christian County.  The unidentified male had a 3-year-old in the maroon SUV with speeds of up to 70 MPH at points.  The arrest came around 10 AM and stay tuned to Regional Radio News for more updates. 

 

A man is in custody following involvement from the Illinois State Police, Shelby County Sheriff, and Christian County Sheriff's office's Monday morning.  Shelby County Sheriff Don Koonce would not say that it was a high-speed chase, just that it was an incident involving multiple agencies and the Illinois State Police would take over the investigation.  The vehicle was stopped in front of the water treatment plant outside of Taylorville on Lincoln Trail. Only one man was taken into custody.  A news release is expected this morning.  Stay tuned to Regional Radio News for more updates.
