A new police chief is feeling right at home in Taylorville.  Chief Dwayne Wheeler, former chief of Kincaid, was sworn in on July 1st at a City Council Meeting to take over as new police Chief of Taylorville after former chief of police Brian Hile retired at the end of June.  Wheeler says that he feels Taylorville is a safe and great place to live but knows there are always improvements.

Wheeler says that he plans to be involved with the community.

Wheeler also stresses to not be afraid to speak up if you see something.
