Taylorville Aldermen Extend Steak and Shake Construction Deadline; Pay Water Plant Construction Bills Monday Night

Taylorville Aldermen Monday night considered a variety of issues in their nearly 45-minute meeting.

The Council approved an extension of their Tax Increment Financing agreement with the owners of the new Steak and Shake, until May 31st, due to rain causing problems pouring the new road to the business.

The Council paid several bills pertaining to the new Water Treatment Plant project.  And, they forwarded to the Finance Committee, the Fire Department and Airport Budgets for the coming fiscal year which starts May First.

Monday night's Taylorville City Council meeting was the last full meeting for 2 outgoing aldermen.  Martin Vota did not seek re-election after 12 years on the Council.  Long-time alderman Earl Walters was defeated by newcomer Kathy Driskell.   Seating of new aldermen takes place at the May 6th Council meeting.
