Avery Bourne Against Recent Minimum Wage Increase

Tuesday, Governor J.B. Pritzker officially signed the $15 minimum wage bill into law. However, Avery Bourne, State Representative of the 95th district is not pleased with the change. Bourne was frustrated with Pritzker, saying he did not negotiate with both sides of the isle.

Bourne says that there were a lot of offers for compromise on the bill, but democrats sent a clear message of what they want.

Bourne did not like how the Democrats pushed the bill into law, and it worries her on what the this means for Illinois moving forward.

The minimum wage will eventually reach $15 an hour January 1st, 2025.
