New Shelbyville Schools Superintendent

Changes are coming for the Shelbyville School District. In December Superintendent Denise Bence informed the School Board that she intends on retiring at the end of the year.

Bence has been in the Shelbyville School District since 1997 starting out as the elementary school Guidance counselor and has served as Superintendent for the past 11 years.

Bence’s replacement has already been named, Shelbyville High School Principal will take over as Superintendent at the end of the school year. He plans on hitting the ground running and says his first order of business will be finding his replacement as Principal of Shelbyville High School.

Bence and Schuricht appeared as a guest on the Newstalk WTIM morning show live from the downtown Shelbyville studios.
