February is canned food month, the U of I Extension Office wants to make sure you are getting the most out of your canned foods.
Nutrition and Wellness Educator Lisa Peterson says make sure you check the label on the can to compare sodium.
Peterson says it can be tough to get an accurate reading on the labels as most of the labels go off serving size but have multiple servings per can.
Peterson says it comes down to moderation, you do not want to take sodium completely out of your diet.
