With the 2018 Illinois Firearm Deer Season opening this week, deer hunters are reminded the importance of gun safety. The seven-day firearm season begins Friday November 16th, and Ed Cross, Director of Communications for the Department of Natural Resources wants to remind everyone to be safe.
Cross also included some safety tips for those who are going to wield a firearm this hunting season.
One final tip is to always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready, and know it is safe, to shoot.
